Take your first step into dressmaking with a practical and enjoyable sewing project. In this course, you will learn how to make your
own skirt while understanding the basic skills needed to begin working with garment patterns, fabric cutting, and simple clothing construction.
This is a perfect introduction for anyone who has already used a sewing machine and would like to move from simple sewing projects into
making wearable garments.
Session 1 – Measurements, Pattern Tracing & Cutting
In the first session, you will learn how to take your body measurements and understand the basic parts of a dressmaking pattern. You will trace
the pattern pieces required for your skirt, prepare your fabric, and cut your pieces accurately. You will also begin the construction process and learn
how to follow the correct sewing order for making a simple garment.
Session 2 – Skirt Construction & Finishing
In the second session, you will continue constructing your skirt. You will learn how to sew the seams, attach the waistband,
insert elastic or a fastening, hem the skirt, and finish it neatly. By the end of the course, you will have completed your first skirt
and gained the confidence to continue with future dressmaking projects.

You may bring your own sewing machine if you would like to learn on it, or you may use one of the machines available at
